Contois Music, LLC.  Established in 1971, has always been on the forefront of Music, Education, and Technology.  Since launching our Internet Business in 1996, we have provided our Nationwide Customers with the same high-quality customer sales and service that we've provided our local customers since 1971.  And now with our new focus on Music Education and recent rennovations, we enter our next Chapter in the Music Business.  Welcome to the Contois School of Music.

Business TimeLine: 

• 1971 - Dave, Dan, Stan, and Judy Contois open local music store in Essex Junction, VT selling Pianos and Organs. (Contois Pianos & Organs)  
• 1982 - After Dave finishes attending Boston's Berklee College of Music, Contois acquires the Yamaha Music Product franchise.
• 1986 - Dave develops areas first Bulletin Board System (BBS) to provide customers with information to and from the local store via personal computers.  (We were into online technologies way before those big box guys!) .
• 1996 - Contois Music launches informational based website www.contois.com .
• 1997 - Contois Music launches first ecommerce site for ordering Yamaha Music Products.
• 1999 - Contois Music is the featured cover story for Musical Merchandise Review magazine for it's unique business of selling Yamaha Music Products exclusively and extensive use of Internet Technologies.
• 2001 (September) - Redesigned eCommerce site is launched. www.eMusicGear.com  
• 2003 (October) - eMusicGear launches new redesigned eCommerce Site!
• 2006 (August) - eMusicGear domain name changed to ContoisMusic.com
• 2006 (December) - Contois Music, LLC celebrates 35th year in the music business.
• 2007 (January) - Contois Music, LLC launches eBay site.  http://stores.ebay.com/contoismusic
• 2008 (December) - Contois Music, LLC launches new redesigned ecommerce site.  www.ContoisMusic.com
• 2010 (July-December - Contois Music, LLC rennovates entire store to focus more on Music Education.
  Forms the Contois School of Music.
• 2011 - Contois Music, LLC celebrates 40th anniversary.  Opened December 1st, 1971.

Dave Contois - Owner/Partner - dave@contoismusic.com
Dave Contois is in charge of all Internet Ecommerce Development and Retail operations.  After attending the famous Berklee School of Music in Boston, Dave decided to take over the family business and exclusively retail Yamaha Music Products.  Dave's computer experience results from his father Stan (an IBM employee of over 27 years) and being involved with various computer and multimedia technologies, such as the IBM Music Feature Card introduced in the mid 80's. This was back in the days of the PC Junior!  The IBM Music Feature Card was one of the first PC cards that interfaced computers and keyboards for home entertainment and education.  Ironically enough it was a collaboration between IBM and Yamaha. Dave began marketing the Yamaha Portable Keyboards to homes and schools using the personal computer well before anyone in the industry.  Contois Music quickly became, and is still today, recognized as one of the leading Yamaha Music Product retailers in the U.S.  Dave has 3 children, and continues to play in his Jazz Trio locally.

Dan Contois (Dave's Brother) handles all technical support and service.  Dan continues to be the best in his field for all of our service and technical support needs.  Thus making us one of the few Yamaha Dealers in the U.S.  that is also a Yamaha Authorized Service center.

Judy and Stan Contois - Owners/Partners/Founders
Judy and Stan Contois have semi-retired.  Both still help out at the store and school and are there whenever we need them.

Stuart Cook - Store Manager/Lesson Administrator stuart.cook@contoismusic.com
Stu manages the day to day operations at the school.  With our new layout we have the capacity of 600 music students per week.  Stu's main focus is administrating and marketing the new school.
